York woman pleads in 2012 shoplifting case

Tara Dobson, 23, of York, pleaded guilty to some of the charges stemming from a 2012 shoplifting where store employers stopped her on the way out.
According to court records, Dobson pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of simple assault and one each of retail theft and resisting arrest.
She was sentenced to 12 months on probation. She was also ordered to pay costs and undergo drug/alcohol and mental health evaluations. The judge ordered her to comply with all treatments.
Springettsbury Township Police said Dobson entered the Burlington Coat Factory in the 2800 block of East Market Street and grabbed $320 worth of clothing from displays.
As she tried to leave, employees confronted her, police said. She fought with them until police arrived, and also fought with police as they took custody of her.
